Data for Researchers

Using CCR Data for Research

CCR shares data with researchers securely and confidentially for approved studies. Individual patient level data may be used to study cancer causes, prevention, treatment, and survival for research studies. Requests should be made by the principal investigator on behalf of the institution with which the investigator is affiliated.

To protect the confidentiality of the data and comply with state law, researchers must submit all required documents to CCR for approval prior to receiving data from CCR. All requestors should read Guidelines to receive California Cancer Registry Data. To learn more about the types of data that can be requested through CCR and obtain request forms, see our section on How to Request CCR Data.
