A secondary tumor or growth formed from malignant cells that have broken away from the primary tumor, and have traveled to other parts of the body.
Refer to the most current Multiple Primary and Histology Coding Rules Manual for coding instructions. This applies to cases diagnosed January 1, 2007 and forward.
Do not apply the MP/H coding rules to cases diagnosed prior to January 1, 2007. Refer to the historic coding instructions.
